We have driven by this place a million times and finally stopped today. It was excellent! Their menu is diverse and the two dishes we tried were delicious - the lamb korma and butter chicken. Milder spice than other restaurants do if you like spicier options you’ll have to ask. Even without adding spice, the flavor was fantastic! I felt like I was back at my favorite Indian restaurant in Chicagos Little India. We will be back!

Bombay Mahal has the best butter chicken I have ever eaten. The owners are delightful, and the serving sizes are very generous. Truly a hidden gem in Lansing.

If you want authentic Indian cuisine in a warm and welcoming environment this is definitely the place to go! When my food is good I happy dance in my seat while I eat and I happy danced the whole time I was eating!! The service was above and beyond!

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience. I’ve been a regular customer of this restaurant for about a year and usually order through Uber Eats. In the past, my food has always arrived properly packed and sealed in a stapled paper bag, even for larger orders, so I know this is something they are capable of doing. This time, however, my order arrived with no tamper-proof packaging at all. It was just left outside my door (as per my delivery instructions), completely unsealed. There was no way to know if the food had been opened or handled during transit. Dust or contamination could easily get inside, and that is a serious safety concern. Since the order was placed through someone else’s Uber Eats account, I couldn’t file a complaint through the app, so I called the restaurant directly. The only response I received was: β€œyour order was too large, so we sent it in a box.” No apology, no acknowledgment of the safety issue, and no accountability. I explained that I’ve ordered larger meals before that were properly sealed in bags, including from this same restaurant, but they kept repeating the same excuse. I spent $70+ on this order and ultimately had to throw everything aw

Indian food is my favorite for when I’m feeling under the weather. It perks me right up. It’s the use of healing herbs and spices, which is why quality is important. I was impressed with the quality here. I had the butter chicken, naan, and Indian tea. I would have taken more photos but I couldn’t wait to eat! The butter chicken was perfectly flavored and spiced. The texture of the rice was cooked perfectly. As well as the naan. The tea was perfectly sweetened. They deserve a lot more dine-in business than seen on a cold winters Tuesday! The environment is vibrant. There’s a box of Kleenex at every table, which makes so much sense considering you’re coming in from the cold weather and potentially eating spicy food.
